Jamie and Syelina 13

“Ok men, get ready to bust in!” commanded one of the Organization’s generals. The small troop readied itself by drawing their weapons. Each one was specially designed for that individual soldier, right down to the very last gram of steel. They were also specifically designed to work the best against a specific element.
“On my count, men. 3, 2…”
He never got to one. The dark mist suddenly disappeared and five blurs rushed out and started their attack.
The Organization’s men had barely enough time to raise their weapons and defend themselves against the sudden onslaught. Confusion erupted among them, which cost them precious time. Three of the soldiers were already down by the time the troop started fighting back.
Jamie had started to take them down using his third eye, as well as calling whatever servants had escaped the Organization’s grasp to come to him. Syelina stole the breath out of every soldier that neared her, and then flung them at the stonewalls where the soldiers lay stunned for a while. Nai was in rapid combat with at least three soldiers, her flames and wicked smile made the men shiver and cower as if she was a demon straight from hell. Sebastian disappeared into darkness, only reappearing behind unsuspecting soldiers where he knocked the weapons out of their hands and then punched them unconscious. Annik cracked her whip, letting it coil around the soldiers’ feet, yanking them towards the wall and holding them in place using ice.
Everything went without a hitch. Within minutes, all the soldiers were either unconscious or immobile. The Puppets sheathed their weapons and Jamie covered his eye again.
As the group started to leave the room, one of the men fixed to the wall spat under his breath. “Screw you, and damn you all to the most torturous death imaginable. Kuro is going to kill us because of your fools. Just kill us now.”
No sooner did those words leave his mouth that Syelina was by his side, uncomfortably close. “Hm, now what did I just hear come out of your mouth?” she asked, her voice soft yet frightening. Her finger traced down the soldier’s cheek, deceivingly gentle. Annik and Nai felt shivers crawl down their spines. The soldier was shaking, but he held his head up high.
“I said, Screw you and damn you all,” he repeated. The soldier tried hard to not show his fear, but it was all too visible in his eyes.
Syelina chuckled. “I heard that part, young one. The sentence right after that one. Repeat it for me please.”
Annik realized how young this soldier was. He was maybe a couple of year older than her, even less. She felt sorry for him. She wouldn’t want to get on that side of Syelina’s nature.
“I said to just kill us now, cause Kuro’s going to come and kill us anyways.” He squirmed the best he could, considering that most of his body was encased in ice.
“Ah, so you’re part of Kuro’s army,” Syelina hissed. He grabbed the soldier’s face. “Where is he?”
“Outside. With the rest of his army. He’s well guarded.” The soldier’s voice had started to crack with fear. Annik decided it was time to step in.
“Thank you, I think that’s enough information,” said Annik, and placed a restraining hand on Syelina’s shoulder. The air mistress tensed underneath. She released the soldier’s face and pulled Annik to her. “What are you doing, getting in my way?” Wrath made her eyes turn flat and dead.
“I’m trying to save you from throwing your life uselessly for revenge!” Annik hissed back. “I know you want to get your hands on Kuro, but we’re trying to escape right now.”
Annik shot a, “Help!” look at Jamie. In a couple of strides he was at Syelina’s side, dragging her along as they moved towards the door. “Don’t slow us down now, Syelina. Revenge is a dish best served cold, understand?” he said. “I want to get my hands on him too. Much more than you think.”

It's been awhile! I know this is a bad part to end this chapter, but I had nothing else to write... I think I've been exhausting my brain doing both Puppetmaster and K and N Whenever-We-Can-Write Novels. I'll try posting more often!

Jamie and Syelina 12

Syelina and Jamie looked confused. Sebastian turned to look at them, his blue eyes scanned over the two. They were piercing and cold, completely without emotion. They looked unnatural at that moment, and it unnerved the others.
But Sebastian was quick in his analyzing of the two dark ones. He turned back to Annik and lifted his hand. A strange mist floated out in different colours, settling out on the floor. It started building upwards until a doppelganger of both Jamie and Syelina was created.
The others stared in wonder. “How did you know he would be able to do that?” asked Nai. “I didn’t even know that and I’ve known him longer than you have!”
Annik smiled. “It’s too much of a scientific explanation. You’d tire of it within 15 seconds.” She turns back to Sebastian. “Now make these illusions appear as if they were dead. And please hurry.”
“Ah. I see what you’re doing. Quite cunning,” remarked Jamie. “And he is quite skilled to be able to create such realistic copies.

Jamie and Syelina 11

Some time was spent debating on who should go in and tell the two dark ones to get outside and escape, but it was decided quite quickly that it would be Annik, Nai and Sebastian. Liera and Extreme were placed on guard duty outside of the door.
Annik led the way, as she knew the lay of the building slightly more than the others. Nai and Sebastian were close on her heels, and kept a sharp eye out for any of the zombie menaces.
As they approached the door, the voices that streamed out had softened compared to what Annik had heard earlier. No more bickering or things being smashed.
Slowly, inch-by-inch, the trio poked their heads through the doorway. The two dark ones seemed to be in deep conversation, but it didn’t look serious, which was surprising for the Puppets.
‘They almost look like they’re having fun,’ thought Annik, and chuckled quietly.

Jamie and Syelina 10

“What is taking her so long?” growled Nai, pacing back and forth, wearing a groove into the ground. “She better not have gotten herself in trouble!”
“Knowing her, I think she’ll be fine. Relax,” Extreme said, fiddling with his head phones. Nai looked over at him, and knew he was as worried as she was. She cuffed him on the side of the head, causing him to emit an undignified squawk.
“What was that for?” he asked rubbing his sore head. Nai had hit him harder then she intended, but she wasn’t going to tell him that.
“Stop the ‘I’m too cool to worry’ act, you idiot,” she grinned. “I can tell when you’re acting.”
Extreme was about to reply when Sebastian nudged Extreme in the ribs, and motioned for him to shut up. Then he pointed at the figure on horse back approaching them, and motioned for the animals to turn into battle form.
The figure stopped a few paces before them, and Nai noticed the emblem on his uniform. She shifted into an attack pose.
“Who are you with?” he barked at them. “With the traitor? Or the woman?”

Changes In Our Blog

As you have may noticed, we've added a "Read More" button, which is used for our longer posts. This way we can save space, and give you a little anticipation. Don't forget to give us any ideas or suggestions on our "Critique, Ideas, Suggestions..." page, or to create a character on our "Create A Character" page. Thanks!

Sebastian

Here's something written by Ketchupman awhile ago, and I forgot to put it up. I took some time to edit parts.. sorry for not notifying you earlier! We were entertaining the idea of a possible one-sided romance between Sebastian and Annik, but Sab cut it down right away... but this part is when we were still thinking about adding it. And if you're wondering where this goes, it goes in an interesting part of the story where somebody betrays the group... Sab forbids me from posting it or talking about it yet. Sorry!

-Kiki

Sebastian stepped back inside the gates of the Organization base for the first time in months, proud and
yet frightened of the events that had occurred over the course of the day. The plan had been executed
perfectly. Everything had gone right. But Annik… still Sebastian could not drive away the memories of
her look of loathing towards him. She was the one he had come to like the most. In fact, he almost
found himself believing that he loved her. Now he knew that there could never be anything between
them.

Liera 3

Sorry I haven't been writing lately... I kinda left Liera in the middle of something! Where was I? Oh yeah, I left it off where Alex hugs Liera... what, did you guys think I was going to let the opportunity slip by for some sort of romance to happen? And besides, it was a lot of fun writing this particular part! We get to see a part of Liera that we normally isn't revealed! Teehee, hope you guys enjoy!

Liera's heart started pounding, and she froze, uncertain of what to do. She almost pushed him away, but he was holding on too tight, pinning her arms to her side. Liera could feel his heart beating slowly, steadily; and her own heart started to follow that beat.
Slowly, and carefully, making sure she didn't seem desperate to escape, she tentatively freed her arms and hugged him back. 'Oh,' she thought simply, and it felt like she and Alex were in their own bubble, unattached to anything else in the world.

Liera 2

"Hey Liera!" shouted a familiar voice, making Yumi's ears prick up. Liera turned around and the pace of her heart quickened. "I was looking for you," said the Puppet. Liera felt the blood rise into her cheeks. 'Please don't see me blush, please don't,' she thought, turning her head back to face the pond.
He plopped down beside her and brushed the dirty blonde hair out of his eyes. He seemed a little winded, and his face was flushed from running.

Liera 1

Found the file! Yay! I edited it a bit to make it better...

Liera was sitting in the Puppet park, the sun shining brightly on the lake. It reflected and dazzled her eyes, but she just inched back more into the shade. Yumi, her bunny, was hopping around like crazy, trying to get her attention. Liera just ignored her, too deep in thoughts to notice her best friend's mad antics.

Oh Dear... Sorry!!!

Hello all! I've just looked at my dashboard, and realized the last time we posted was May 25th... sorry for all those readers out there waiting for the next part!
We've been awfully busy lately, and some of us hadn't had the time to sit down and write about Puppetmaster. We're having some exams and waiting for the start of summer, so hopefully we will be able to write soon.
For me, my computer privileges have been quite reduced, and the computer is where I write down all my ideas and stuff. I've been working on transferring my handwritten work onto here, but it's quite tedious.
As for the others? All I know is that Ketchupman has lost his password onto Blogger, Cassandra's been working on her personal blog and Sab is busy with eating, sleeping, drawing and life.
So yeah. I'm going to try to find that old file of Liera's past... hopefully I'll be able to post it by today...
Thanks for sticking with us!

Annik and Nai 2

Hello readers! Sorry we haven't been posting lately, but we're getting back on it! This part was written by Ketchupman, but he had forgotten his password so he can't post :D
Don't forget to check out the authors' other blogs, just click on our names and click on the links.
So here we are!

“Annik, I need to know!”

Nai had been struggling to gather the information from Annik for a week now. She had found the
travelling puppet, and while they had been conversing, Nai managed to find out that Annik had a very
accurate source stating the secrets of many legacies and truths of puppets and humans alike. Annik,
resistant at first to give the information up, kept up her constant travelling. Persistent as she was, Nai
had decided to accompany her.

Alexander Side Character Profile

Alexander is unlike any other side character in Puppetmaster. He is a puppet with no special
power of any kind and with no companion. Alexander grew up with Liera and felt closer to her than
any other girl. Liera soon fell in love with him but never showed it to him, and he felt like she was
his younger sister. They hung out often and Liera’s bond to him grew stronger. He is the type of
person to solve problems naturally and make friends easily. Every girl he comes across, they fall
head over heels for him. He has once not encountered a girl that hasn’t. He isn’t the one to boast
though it would seem like it. Surprisingly, he hasn’t fell in love with a girl once though. He left his
town to join the crew because he wanted to have an adventure.
He is a little taller than the rest- except Sebastian- and a little muscular. He has dirty blonde
hair and brown eyes. His hair reaches his eyes and messy. He normally wears cargos that go to
his knees and a striped and collared white and light blue tee. He has a little pendant of Liera to
have a memory of his little ‘sister’.

Jamie and Syelina 9

Annik created a water light and held it in her palm, lighting the way. She avoided knotted roots and graves and searched for the door that Nai had told her about.
Mist was still trying to shove itself down her throat, but she was able to open up the door and get inside before she fainted again. Taking a deep breath of musty air, she took a few cautious steps into the dim hallways.
Bad memories were creeping into her head as Annik looked around at the familiar surroundings, but shook them off. “I’ve gotten this far, and I’m not letting my guard down again. It’ll be perfectly fine,” she reassured herself.

Position In The Organization

As you may have read, Kuro is the leader of the 37th section of the Organization. Although that may not seem like a high position, think of it this way:
There are hundreds of lesser sections out there, who have no real power except to capture Puppets and report back to the Head. All of these lesser heads are numbers greater than 50. Any number lower than 50 is considered as a "high position." Of course, this usually leads to conflict about who is worthy of having a high position and prejudice about how a certain group acts (the lower positions think of the higher positions as "snobby" and the higher positions think that those lower than them are "leeches" and a hindrance to the Organization). As well, the lower your number, the more land you have to control over. (Poor 50, stuck in the middle)
So yeah, Kuro's actually pretty well off, considering. I mean, he does give off a "delinquent" feel and is a rebel, but he's in the higher ranks of the Organization.

Jamie and Syelina 8

The plot thickens, tension builds, and Kuro is becoming even more ambitious! What will happen next?

“Hmmmm… I’m sure Syelina will come to her senses soon. She doesn’t seem to want to acknowledge how much power we have together…” Jamie stated to himself, pacing. “I’m sure she realized that since the beginning. But she’s extremely stubborn…”
He stopped walking. Some scuffling and banging could be heard down the hall, as well as a voice cursing. ‘That sounds like-‘
Before he could finish his thought, Syelina stamped towards him, extremely disheveled. She stopped a few paces away from him and pushed a strand of hair out of her face. She then gave him one of her infamous glares.

Annik's Dark Secret

I don't even know where this is supposed to fit in the story, but this is one of Annik's tragedy! (Sabby thought Puppetmaster was getting too "mushy" and should have more action and tragedy) Enjoy! (Or should I really be saying that about something sad?)

“Why did you do it?” she swung her legs back and forth, looking at the stone seven meters below her feet. “Why?” The branch holding her was rough under her fingers, the bark cutting into her hand.
“Annik. They were going to hurt me. How else was I supposed to react? I’m a person!”
“That’s the problem,” she retorted, bitterness staining the air between them. “You’re a human. And a liar.”
“A liar?” he asked, and Annik almost believed he was surprised at the accusation. He ran his hand through his mouse brown hair.
“I saw you. Talking to those people. You were prepared to give me over. You took the money they offered. You promised that I’d either ready to be handed over, or you’d kill me.” Tears started clouding over her vision.
“I’m sorry Annik. I don’t know what came over me at that moment…” She almost softened, but immediately hardened herself against him.
“Yeah right. I’ve also seen you meet them several times after that happened. Including when I had to wait for you to meet me here.”

Jamie and Syelina 7

“Crap. That was crazy,” Syelina muttered, walking into her small, stone cottage. Closing the door behind her, she walked towards her den. She flopped onto her chair, and started to think of what to do next. But for some reason, her thoughts kept on drifting back to Jamie. She stood up and walked around, petting her bats and fixing the gloomy upholstery. Yet whatever she did, she could only think about him.
“Damn it! Why can’t I stop thinking about him?!” she exclaimed, startling all her bats into flight. “We’re enemies, and I’m the one who said working together was a one time only thing. Why did I even think about joining up with him?” She kicked her desk and cursed. “Probably being stuck with that punk for too long. Ugh.”
“But what if you’re wrong?” asked a little voice in her head. “What if-“
“AH! No way…” she screamed, then realized how crazy she sounded, talking to no one real. ‘Pffft. I’m overreacting. But still…”

Jamie and Syelina 6

So so far, Jamie and Syelina were trapped in one cell together by Kuro, and they co-operated (gasp!) to escape. We've focused on the skeleton and the air mistress, but what about that seemingly stupid delinquent behind all this? Here it is, part 6, starring Kuro!

“Hmmmm…” pondered Kuro. “I can’t say I was surprised about this outcome.” He switched off the security camera in the cell, and walked back up the stairs slowly. “It’s quite funny how they never noticed this was part of my plan, considering how conniving and insightful they are. They should’ve been able to see right through this, especially Syelina,” he chuckled to himself. “This story has a very promising beginning.”
“They expect so low of me, and think that I’m just a hard-headed rebel. Won’t they be shocked later when this story comes to an end,” he snickered.
He sat back down at his desk, and checked all of the other security cameras placed around the castle. Unlike the other leaders, he didn’t rely on his servants and Puppets to take care of security around here. He always kept a careful eye on the screens, making sure nothing goes against his plan.
He saw a shadowy figure run across the top of the east wall, and he smiled. Syelina. As he watched her practically glide in the air, he remembered about the other one. He glanced at all the other cameras, but couldn’t find the other main character.

Jamie and Syelina 5

“That was fun,” remarked Syelina. “Remind me to use that trick the next time I get caught. I’m not saying I’m planning to get jailed again anytime soon though, so don’t get any ideas in that skull of yours.”
She stripped the unconscious guard of his weapons, and handed a baton to Jamie, while taking another for herself. “Ready?”
“Wait. Shush!” whispered Jamie, and they could hear the second guard coming down the hallway.
“Lucas? Are you ok? I heard some noise- ACK!” he exclaimed as Jamie and Syelina came at him with weapons raised. He was down for the count in seconds.
“Quick, find the keys!” hissed Jamie, and they both searched Julius’s uniform.
After a few minutes of searching and slowly panicking, they hit the jackpot. “Got it!” crowed Syelina in triumph, taking a ring of keys out of the guard’s pocket. “Now which one is it?”
“The small black one,” replied Jamie, and Syelina gave him a funny look. “What? I’m observant,” he explained, and was met with a shrug.
As they got up, vortex free, Jamie flexed his fingers, and smiled. “Ahhh… power again.”
“Remember. No more partnerships in the future,” reminded Syelina, her air currents flowing around her again.
“Don’t worry. I won’t forget,” retorted Jamie. “Now could you just get us out of here?”

Jamie and Syelina 4

“Guard!” echoed down the stonewalls of the dungeon. Lucas’s head shot up from his dreamless nap. Panicking a little, he thought it was the boss who had caught him not checking on the traitor and the woman, when he realized the voice was coming from one of the cells.
“Pffft,” he muttered under his breath. “No need to worry about him-“
“GUARD!!”
“Ok, ok I’m coming you idiot!” yelled an agitated Lucas, clearly annoyed. As he got to the cell, he saw the traitor standing at the entrance. “What is it?” Lucas growled.
“Oh, nothing, really. I just killed her and the stench is killing me, that’s all. Just bring me to another cell, would you?”
“What? Nothing?” asked Lucas, a little shocked after hearing the news. “I mean she was just brought in here yesterday…” He looked behind Jamie, but he could see nothing.
“I got bored,” grinned Jamie devilishly. “Now please hurry up.”
Lucas nodded slowly, and yelled over at the other guard down the hallway, “Julius, I’m taking him to another cell!”
“It’s cell number 12, right?” called down Julius. Lucas looked at the archway above the door, and found the number.
“Yep! I’ll take him to number 10, ok?”
“Just get on with it, ok?” muttered Jamie. “I can’t stay in here with a corpse forever while you do small chit-chat with your comrade.”
Lucas rolled his eyes as he opened the door. ‘This prisoner is an arrogant-‘ he thought, but that thought was cut off when he noticed the body wasn’t to be found. As he looked at Jamie realization dawning on him, Jamie smiled.
“Look up,” he pointed, and all Lucas saw before he blacked out was the woman mid-fall, right above his head.
