Sebastian

Here's something written by Ketchupman awhile ago, and I forgot to put it up. I took some time to edit parts.. sorry for not notifying you earlier! We were entertaining the idea of a possible one-sided romance between Sebastian and Annik, but Sab cut it down right away... but this part is when we were still thinking about adding it. And if you're wondering where this goes, it goes in an interesting part of the story where somebody betrays the group... Sab forbids me from posting it or talking about it yet. Sorry!

Sebastian stepped back inside the gates of the Organization base for the first time in months, proud and
yet frightened of the events that had occurred over the course of the day. The plan had been executed
perfectly. Everything had gone right. But Annik… still Sebastian could not drive away the memories of
her look of loathing towards him. She was the one he had come to like the most. In fact, he almost
found himself believing that he loved her. Now he knew that there could never be anything between
them.

As he walked amongst the fuppets, accepting signs of welcome they each gave to him in turn, he
couldn’t help but feel that giving away the group of puppets had been the wrong decision. Sure, the
puppets had managed to get away, but nevertheless, Sebastian had felt guilty about the situation
throughout the travel back to Organization headquarters. He had liked the puppets, and they had
accepted him as a fuppet, believing him all the way. 'They didn’t deserve what I gave them in return,' he thought, and he felt almost, well, guilty and morose. He shook that feeling off though. He was a fuppet, and fuppets weren't supposed to have those type of emotions.

But then he thought back to the group of Puppets, and their mission. Then he remembered his mission and why he was with them in the first place. That was why he felt so wrongly about his actions. It was the one thing that separated him and them:
they were good at heart, and he was not.

His thoughts were interrupted by Kuro, the head of the plan. “I can see that despite our efforts to
destroy or recreate the band of Puppets to be hopeless, they still managed to get away from you,” Kuro
said with a sigh.

Sebastian felt the usual anger that started to boil up inside him every time he talked with Kuro. He was
an arrogant, self-centered man, and had only gotten so high up in the Organization for his ability to
utilize other people. Sebastian never liked wasting time and his voice talking to idiots. He eventually answered Kuro with an explaining voice. “Well, the puppets are an
unusually strong bunch, and overpowered the weak copies that you so wrongly created.”

Kuro was taken aback by this comment. He had paid close attention to the descriptions Sebastian had
given to him, and had made perfect copies. Now Sebastian was blaming the defeat on him? “I can assure
you, Sebastian that I did what I could with the pathetic descriptions you had given me.”

Both of them stared hard at each other for a moment, and then Sebastian strode off, determined to get
away from the menace he had been forced to work with. Kuro just smiled. Sebastian was exactly the
kind that they needed at the Organization, but he was annoying. Well, he thought, you rarely have one
without the other, do you? Then he too, walked away.
