Jamie and Syelina 6

So so far, Jamie and Syelina were trapped in one cell together by Kuro, and they co-operated (gasp!) to escape. We've focused on the skeleton and the air mistress, but what about that seemingly stupid delinquent behind all this? Here it is, part 6, starring Kuro!

“Hmmmm…” pondered Kuro. “I can’t say I was surprised about this outcome.” He switched off the security camera in the cell, and walked back up the stairs slowly. “It’s quite funny how they never noticed this was part of my plan, considering how conniving and insightful they are. They should’ve been able to see right through this, especially Syelina,” he chuckled to himself. “This story has a very promising beginning.”
“They expect so low of me, and think that I’m just a hard-headed rebel. Won’t they be shocked later when this story comes to an end,” he snickered.
He sat back down at his desk, and checked all of the other security cameras placed around the castle. Unlike the other leaders, he didn’t rely on his servants and Puppets to take care of security around here. He always kept a careful eye on the screens, making sure nothing goes against his plan.
He saw a shadowy figure run across the top of the east wall, and he smiled. Syelina. As he watched her practically glide in the air, he remembered about the other one. He glanced at all the other cameras, but couldn’t find the other main character.
“No surprise. He is the King of the Dead after all,” he muttered to himself. “Blending in the darkness is his specialty.” Kuro grimaced as he remembered the trouble the King of the Dead had caused his forces when the Head ordered for him to be captured. “He sure excels at hide-and-seek. But that won’t happen anymore. Now, I’ll be keeping a close watch on Syelina. Besides, they would be extremely stupid to not join up after this whole incident, and she’ll lead me right to him. But now, I just have to wait,” and he pressed the small button in the inset of the desk leg.
“What now, Kuro?” crackled a shrewd, whiny voice over the small speakers.
“Just reporting to the Head, Jenna. And don’t sound so huffy; I know you’re the Head’s secretary but no need to be snobby about it,” he drawled.
Jenna sniffed. “Fine. I’ll put the Head on. And I am not his secretary!”
‘No use trying to argue. But man, she’s touchy!’ he smiled to himself. Kuro heard the click and dial of the line switch, then silence.
“What do you have to report?” asked an ambiguous voice. Kuro gave an involuntary gulp. Talking to the Head always made the leader uneasy, as he could never tell if the Head was male or female. The voice sounded as if it was two different people talking at the same time, blending into one, fuzzy voice. Kuro hated not being informed, not knowing things.
“The plan is working perfectly. They’re still left in the dark about this,” he informed, not bothering to hide the pride in his voice.
“Don’t let this get into your head, Kuro. Remember, you promised a good ending to this plan, and worth my time. Otherwise…” the intercom clicked, replaced by beeping.
Kuro grimaced, and pressed the button to end the irritating bleeping. Then he leaned back in his chair, and rested his chin on his hand.
‘I’ll show all of them. When they’re not looking, I’ll rise to the top, and be at the Head’s right hand. I’ll find out who the Head is, and rule over all of these infuriating stuffed shirts,’ he thought and turned his attention back towards the screens.
